On October 16, 2024, I had the opportunity to play for the first time at Queensbury Country Club. I’ve heard good things about this golf course and have driven by it many times on journeys through the Adirondacks. Queensbury Country Club is a public golf course located near Lake George. The course is at the intersection of Route 9 and 149. Founded in 1954, the 18-hole, par 70 course is in Adirondack Park and boasts beautiful views. Playing in October, I had an opportunity to see the colorful Adirondack mountains in the background of many holes. The course is surrounded by many mature trees. It has wide fairways, but trees line most of the fairways. There are good changes in elevation, and many greens have slopes to them, making for challenging putting. The course is not long, with three sets of tees that range from 5700 yards to 4580. These shorter tees provide an ideal opportunity for average golfers. There are a few sand traps, well-maintained. The five par three holes are each very challenging long par three holes. The staff at the course were exceedingly friendly. Queensbury Country Club is a comfortable and scenic golf course.
