Municipal Golf in Monroe County

Early morning on September 5th, 2024, I played Churchville Golf Course. There are many excellent golf courses in Monroe county and the Rochester area. I played 9 holes at Churchville since my time was limited and this was a convenient location. Churchville is a 27 hole Monroe County Municipal golf course. Playing early fall morning the course was heavy with dew, reminding me of so many rounds of early morning golf. The course is well maintained, mowing ahead of golfers to remove heavy dew.

The area topography of the course is flat so there is very little changes in elevation, but, there are a couple of elevated greens. There are a few water hazards but no sand traps. The course is fairly long with maximum 6500 yards for the primary 18 holes. The white tees are 6100 yards. There are gold tees as well, only 5100 yards. A senior golfer might want to create a combination of tees to provide more of a challenge.

The course is wide open with few trees so you will not lose many balls and have clear shots to return to fairway. As a municipal course this was a nice playable course I enjoyed this early morning.
