The RTJ Trail course at Hampton Cove is in here Huntsville, Alabama. This site has two 18-hole courses and a short course. I played the River course, a relatively flat course that runs near a branch of the Tennessee River. An interesting feature of this course is that there are no sand traps. However, the course is not without obstacles. Water comes into play, and 11 of the 18 holes, with many shots over the water to reach the green. Shots must be very accurate, I had the experience of landing a shot on the green with a bit of side spin only to roll off the green and into the lake. The course is carved from a wooded area, and you frequently see birds and other wildlife. The course conditions do have fairways and tees that show wear, but the greens were in good condition and fast, undulating greens
