A variety of mature trees frame nearly every hole, giving shape and direction to tee shots without making the layout feel claustrophobic. The conditioning was excellent, and the fairways provided a consistent, forgiving surface.

The greens are a standout feature. They are large, fast, and full of character, with noticeable slopes and several false fronts that can send an under-clubbed approach rolling back down the fairway. Distance control is critical. Being below the hole is not just helpful—it’s essential.

Water is a constant companion throughout the round, particularly on the finishing holes, where hazards tighten sightlines and raise the stakes. The closing stretch demands focus and disciplined shot-making, offering both risk and reward. It’s the kind of finish that can make—or undo—a good scorecard in a matter of minutes.

With five sets of tees, the course accommodates players of all skill levels. Whether you’re looking for a manageable round or a full test of your game, you can choose a yardage that fits.

Adding to the experience was the company. I was paired with three cordial and skilled women visiting from New Hampshire, and we enjoyed great conversation along with the golf. There’s something special about meeting fellow golfers from different places, especially when the setting is as inviting as a Florida winter day.

The Florida Club blends playability, challenge, and classic South Florida scenery. Between the water-lined finishing holes, the expansive greens, and the welcoming atmosphere, it offers a memorable round that feels authentically Florida.

On a warm, partly cloudy Florida afternoon, I recently had the pleasure of playing The Florida Club in Stuart—and it may well define what I think of as the quintessential Florida golf course.
