Hollywood Beach is one of our stops on our winter Florida trip. The beach is lovely, with a long, wide paved boardwalk, great for exercise and people-watching. But I also wanted to get in another round of golf. The Hollywood Beach Golf Club is a short 2 miles from the beach, a municipal course in Hollywood. It is an old course, started in 1924 and designed by Donal Ross. The staff is friendly, and the rates are reasonable, making it an enjoyable day on the links. The course is a nice layout with some water, multiple traps, and mature trees. The holes are flat, and fairways are narrow in this compact course in a city block. The course shows its age and, like many municipal courses could use more maintenance. But, the convenient location makes it a nice golfing experience near the beach.
