On February 13, 2024, I played at the Sandhill Crane Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens. The course is located just west of PGA National. I recall that I did play this course many years ago. It is impressive how much development occurred in the area since that time. The course also has grown as well. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is a par 3 course, an excellent driving range and training facility, and a large restaurant. The course is 6500 yards with 5 different tees to accommodate all skill levels.
The course showcases the Florida environment with beautiful palm trees and water hazards on many holes. There are birds and a few alligators in the natural habitat. It is a fun challenge of golf with a mix of holes with doglegs and a short par 3. I putted well on the greens. The course is nicely maintained, workable sand traps, and cordial hospitality. Carts are equipped with touchscreen GPS units. It is nice to see this public course retained and improved in the rapidly developing Florida real estate.
