Quintessential New York

On September 4, 2024 I played the first of my planned courses in Rochester area. Terry Hills Golf Course in Batavia enabled me to check of completing Genesee county. It was a beautiful day for golf, however I only played 9 of the 27 hole track. I had limited time this day, but it was a course worth returning to.

This course reminded me of New York with the native grasses and trees. The mixture of mature hardwoods and evergreens was not only picturesque but count pass as a botanical garden. The course is groomed under the trees so there are few places to lose golf balls. There are a few pond and creek water hazards including an island green. There is a little changes in elevation and angled fairways. Their are a few well placed bunkers. The course is not overly long at about 3000 yards on each nine. There are four sets of tees but with basically two tee boxes. The greens are well maintained and have undulations which favors those who have played regularly.

Terry Hills was a joy to play. Hospitality of staff was excellent and a well maintained well designed golf course.
