Fun Family Golf

Several of my siblings and I have participated in the New York FFA Foundation Golf event for several years. This year, the event was plated at Oneida Community Golf Club in Sherrill, New York. This was a new course to add to my New York collection. I counted up to playing nearly 100 New York golf courses.

Oneida Community is a very nice course with a rich history. It is one of America’s oldest courses, over 100 years old. Previously owned and operated by Oneida Ltd, this course was used only for company employees and guests. Now open to any golfers.

The course has several tees to accommodate all golfers ranging from 5000 to 6400 years. The lower part of the course is flat, with a winding creek that plays into several holes. The upper part of the course has some nice elevation changes. Many mature trees are on the course, which can be obstacles to wayward shots and several doglegs. The greens are well maintained. It is a picturesque golf course; we enjoyed it on this sunny day.
